Nobody's wedding in 2020 happened as planned. We are so inspired by seeing so many of our engaged couples rolling with the punches and creating new wedding plans. Kelly and Nick are no exception. In fact, we'd say they effectively kicked COVID in the face by having such an epic adventure elopement in Colorado! With their intimate wedding in Silverton, Colorado postponed to 2021, this adventurous couple planned an all-day Jeeping and hiking elopement to an alpine lake at 12,000' instead.

We still can't believe how many amazing pieces Kelly and Nick weaved into their elopement day. Their adventure elopement video shows it all - Jeeping up a four-wheel-drive road, hiking by headlamp, vows in front of golden mountains lit by the sunrise, their giant Mastiff accompanying them (and even signing their marriage license!), breakfast burritos a la campstove, and finally an icy just-married plunge into the alpine lake! WOW!

But what struck us even more than the landscape or the epic activities was Kelly and Nick's genuine, head-over-heels love for one another. You can totally tell by their heartfelt vows and huge smiles all day. COVID was definitely not going to get in the way of their marriage this year. We are already so excited to see them again to film their intimate wedding in 2021.

Now, we can't talk about Kelly and Nick without mentioning the third party to their marriage, Lily. Lily is Kelly's 130-lb Neapolitan Mastiff, and she's definitely the star of the show! Not only is self-solemnizing is legal in Colorado (which is how this couple sealed the deal), but your DOG can even sign your marriage license as a witness. HOW COOL IS THAT?! Lily's massive pawprint juuust barely fit onto the "witness" line, and now she will be a part of their marriage forever.
